Data
Vermont Explor has been
collecting hospital discharge data since 1989. We provide hospitals and
other data users with annual data sets that include procedures, diagnoses,
charges, length of stay, DRG, MDC, and patient demographics. Up to and
including
2000, we collected data on all inpatients and ambulatory surgeries. Beginning
in 2001, we have added Emergency Department visits, Observation Beds,
and
Series patients.

Data
requests will be reviewed and all sales of record-level data require a contract.

Our data processor, HIDI, submits hospital data to the QualityWorks web tool. Hospital personnel then complete the web forms, and the complete data go to ORYX. Vermont hospitals may sign up to use this service. Please contact Lauri Scharf (802-223-3461) for details.
