Vermont Explor, a business unit within the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems - Network Services Organization (VAHHS-NSO), collects and processes discharge data from all Vermont member hospitals. Vermont Explor also solicits discharge data on Vermont residents from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York. Once these data records are collected and standardized, they are combined and used with other appropriate datasets to provide a comprehensive analysis of the Vermont health care environment.

Vermont Explor data products and services include: annual record-level datasets; annual reports summarizing county and state-level data; market-share reports; and custom reports tailored to geographic areas, procedure groupings, diagnosis groupings and demographic profiles. Our members can also take advantage of third-party Internet-based planning products that quickly summarize these data and allow comparison to other regions of the US. Other services include data quality verification, and the submission of ORYX indicator data to the Joint Commission. Vermont Explor has been providing a variety of data services since 1983.
